THE MINT CHRONICLES
(E-GROUP)

Welcome to the homepage for The Mint Chronicles e-group.We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our group by first explaining the purpose or mission of this group. Our purpose is to provide a forum for people who are interested in plants belonging to the Lamiaceae/ Labiate or mint family. Here members are encouraged to actively participate in discussions with other members on any topic which pertains to any of the 180 genera and 3500 species.Topics of discussion can range from discussions on what is growing in your garden that belongs to this family to accepted scientific names and synonyms for plants to morphology and methods of propagation. We encourage members to contribute abstracts or short summaries of interesting articles they have read about a particular species in this family. We also encourage questions relating to any discussion topic.

This group differs from other groups in that most groups deal only with one genera, and some members get upset when another member submits off topic material. We feel that this is too restrictive as most people have more than one genera of mints growing in their garden. If a member wants to devote all their energy to one genera, that is fine, but we will welcome them if down the line they want to jump in on a discussion pertaining to a different genera.

This group does have a couple of rules which we all must abide by.We ask that members refrain from discussions relating to alternative medicine or herbal remedies as there is a group which deals exclusively with that topic and controversies over those type topics cause more problems than do good.We insist that all members use good netiquette. There will be no tolerance of bad conduct.

We look forward to including you in our group and have every confidence that you will benefit tremendously from your active participation. To subscribe, click on the banner below and place the word "subscribe" in the subject of the e-mail and hit send.
